Kitchen Cabinet

The Weekend Australian - Review - - Television -

Tuesday, 8pm, ABC1 No doubt about it, Annabel Crabb is a serious talent; she’s smart, funny and engaging but in danger of being overexposed. Radio, print, TV, online, social media: she’s everywhere, and no matter how good a talent you are the audience will eventually begin to wilt from overexposure. (Stephen Fry is a painful example. Used to love him, now switch off at the sound of his voice.) Kitchen Cabinet is a terrific idea and Crabb rustles up a mean dessert in return for a home-cooked meal by a federal pollie, but her guests can be patchy entertainment. Labor MP Craig Emerson was fun last week; here, Crabb joins Jenny Macklin in her Melbourne home for a curry.
