Terror at Sea: The Sinking of the Concordia
Sunday, 6.30pm, Ten (One) Last week, five crew members of the Costa Concordia, which ran aground off the Italian island of Giglio last year killing 32 people, received jail sentences for their part in the disaster. The captain, Francesco Schettino, 52, goes before the court in September on charges of multiple manslaughter and abandoning ship. So although this excellent documentary was shown in February, it’s worth watching again for a reminder of how the farce turned into tragedy. It uses real-time footage and exclusive interviews with survivors, rescuers and experts to reconstruct the events.
