Fri­day, 8.30pm, ABC1 The Hon­ourable Miss Phryne Fisher (Essie Davis: Cloud­street, The Slap) is cer­tainly glamorous. She can ride a horse, swing from a trapeze and is a good shot. The hero of Kerry Green­wood’s 20 nov­els on which this TV se­ries is based, she’s out to solve mur­ders of ev­ery va­ri­ety. The set­ting is Melbourne 1929, and the el­e­gant fash­ion and stylish decor help make this hand­some se­ries, now in its sec­ond sea­son, easy on the eye. In this episode, Death Comes Knock­ing, Aunt Pru­dence (Miriam Mar­golyes) asks a spir­i­tu­al­ist to con­tact her dead god­son. The ex­quis­ite lady de­tec­tive smells a rat.
