Monday, 2.30pm, Showcase Steve Buscemi ( The Sopranos, Reservoir Dogs) has one of those faces that’s oh so familiar on American television. In this series set in the Prohibition era, he plays Enoch ‘‘ Nucky’’ Thompson, the king of Atlantic City, a cross between politician and gangster, based on the book about real-life criminal Enoch L. Johnson. Martin Scorsese directed the pilot with a budget of $US18 million in 2010. A fortune, one might say, but it appears to have paid off: the series has won 12 Emmy Awards. Catch up here with the first two episodes — New York Sour and Resignation — of season four, which has just gone to air in the US.
