Bob Mar­ley: The Di­rec­tor’s Cut

Satur­day, 8pm, Stu­dio Robert ‘‘ Bob’’ Nesta Mar­ley brought reg­gae mu­sic to the world; he also in­tro­duced us to the Rasta­far­ian re­li­gion that, back in the 1970s, was known only in Ja­maica. Peo­ple every­where loved his mu­sic and al­though he died aged 36 in 1981 — from a ma­lig­nant melanoma un­der the nail of a toe that he re­fused to have am­pu­tated — his mu­sic lives on. Th­ese two re­mas­tered 1979 con­cert per­for­mances in­clude one in Ger­many that proved to be his last in Europe.
