Inside: Russia’s Toughest Prisons
Wednesday, 10.30pm, Nat Geo This is probably not a program to watch just before you go to bed. A cannibal talking about how he killed, fried and ate his victim is not quite on a par with a mug of hot cocoa. The film crew who made this documentary in 2011 was the first Russian officials allowed into three of the country’s harshest prisons: Black Dolphin, 200-year-old Vladimir Central and Siberian Prison Camp 17. It features interviews with some of the inmates — including the cannibal, who is delighted to describe in detail his dietary habits.
