Thurs­day, 8.35pm, SoHo This 10-part his­tor­i­cal drama is based on Philippa Gre­gory’s best­selling se­ries of nov­els, The Cousins’ War. Set in 1464 at the time of the Wars of the Roses, it’s the story of three ma­nip­u­la­tive women from two sides of the same fam­ily — the House of York and the House of Lancaster — who are caught up in the bat­tle over who should be king of Eng­land. Re­becca Fer­gu­son plays El­iz­a­beth Woodville, wife of Ed­ward IV (and an­ces­tor of ev­ery English monarch since Henry VIII and ev­ery Scot­tish monarch since James V of Scot­land). In episode five, War at First Hand, Ed­ward is ex­pected back with an army to un­set­tle War­wick’s court.
