The Weekend Australian - Review - - Mind Games -

BRAD Coles is now the editor and publisher of Australian BridgeMagazine, having taken over from yours truly. I published the magazine from 1999 until December last year, a total of 101 issues. I thought it was time for a change. It may be a privilege to produce the national magazine, but it can also be hard work. Ron Klinger, who published the magazine from 1972 until 1984, said that it was the second-happiest day in his life when he acquired the magazine. The happiest was when he sold it.

Coles is no slouch at the publishing business as his first issue has shown. He has added a bidding challenge feature and a regular column from Boye Brogeland of Norway. Brogeland is a former world champion who has a unique approach to the game. He also publishes the Norwegian national bridge magazine. Coles has also brought back the Abbot with his amusing exploits at the Monastery of St Titus from English writer David Bird. The Abbot is South on deal one.
