Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis Described by Beethoven as his “greatest work”, Missa Solemnis took the composer four years to create. A true labour of love, he wrote on the finished manuscript, “From the heart — may it return to the heart.” The grand work, for solo voices, choir and the full orchestra, will be performed across three nights by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Robertson, and with the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.
