Beethoven’s Missa Solem­nis De­scribed by Beethoven as his “great­est work”, Missa Solem­nis took the com­poser four years to cre­ate. A true labour of love, he wrote on the fin­ished man­u­script, “From the heart — may it re­turn to the heart.” The grand work, for solo voices, choir and the full or­ches­tra, will be per­formed across three nights by the Syd­ney Sym­phony Or­ches­tra con­ducted by David Robert­son, and with the Syd­ney Phil­har­mo­nia Choirs.
