Today, Sarah Barns and Michael Killalea will discuss their installation Arrivals and Departures (pictured), a series of brightly coloured shipping containers each containing a mini-gallery that tells the story of Sydney’s maritime history. On October 25, the talk series will continue with an exploration by Anne Davies and The Australian’s Helen Trinca (authors of Waterfront, The Battle that Changed Australia) of the history of the maritime workers’ movement at the former docks. Michelle Hiscock The most recent landscape series from painter Michelle Hiscock depicts evocative natural scenes in a collection of oil paintings and watercolours, created after several years of drawing and painting from life. Hiscock is known for her mastery of landscapes rendered in oil, which are often small scale, and for her art masterclasses at the Art Gallery of NSW and the National Art School in Sydney.
