The Weekend Australian - Review - - Out & About - David Stratton

The Lobster (MA15+) The first English-language feature by award-winning Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos retains the bizarre vision of Dogtooth and Alps. In a future, or possibly parallel, world, being single is not an option. As the recently divorced protagonist (Colin Farrell) discovers, a time limit is placed on finding a new mate and, if this isn’t met, singles are transformed into animals of their choice — in his case, a lobster. Combined with the film’s dry humour and wickedly satiric allegory, there’s a surprising tenderness.
