Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares

The Weekend Australian - Review - - Television -

Friends recently spoiled themselves and booked dinner at Gordon Ransay’s Maze restaurant in New York. They said it was the most disappointing, overpriced, uninspiring experience they’d had. I keep that in mind when I watch the British celeb chef tearing another chef to pieces. Having said that, he’s justified in this episode. Ramsay visits Chappy’s in Nashville, Tennessee. Owner-chef Chappy has been serving a New Orleans menu since 2006, but customer numbers are dwindling and meals keep being sent back. He reckons they just don’t understand the food, but when the 15 “specials” haven’t changed in nine years and the same dish costs $8.95 at lunch but $29.95 at dinner, well, Ramsay rightly explodes.
