Pocket the Black Lazy Eye Only Blues Mu­sic South Aus­tralia’s Lazy Eye didn’t set out to cre­ate a live al­bum, but rather a stu­dio record­ing ex­pe­ri­ence for a small group of peo­ple. What emerged was a hy­brid — an al­bum with stu­dio­qual­ity sound and a live feel — recorded over three days in June at Ade­laide’s Chapel Lane stu­dio.

Band mem­bers Evan Whet­ter (vo­cals, or­gan and har­mon­ica), Er­ica Graf (gui­tar, back­ing vo­cals) and Mario Marino (drums, back­ing vo­cals) say they weren’t seek­ing per­fec­tion but “the tran­sient qual­i­ties of groove and en­ergy”. If the per­for­mances aren’t al­ways flaw­less, how­ever, Whet­ter’s strong lead vo­cals and deft touch with a Ham­mond or­gan com­bine with some tight drum­ming from Marino and Graf’s
