Speed-the-Plow David Mamet’s ex­plo­ration of Amer­i­can busi­ness life and the odd am­biva­lence of the male re­la­tion­ships that sus­tain it moves here from the world of real es­tate ( Glen­garry Glen Ross) to Hol­ly­wood. Two pro­duc­ers, played by Da­mon Her­ri­man and Lachy Hulme, strug­gling to make it big in a movie stu­dio are about to pitch a com­mer­cial movie to their boss when their tem­po­rary sec­re­tary (Rose Tat­suo Miya­jima: Con­nect with Ev­ery­thing Tat­suo Miya­jima’s dig­i­tal works shed light on the big is­sues of life, death and time. For the 59year-old Ja­panese artist, time is no sim­ple tool of mea­sure­ment; it is far more, too, than an ab­stract con­cept. Time forms the ba­sis of his prac­tice. It is his life’s work. It may be, in fact, an ob­ses­sion. Miya­jima stops short of con­ced­ing as much, be­fore rolling a shirt cuff to re­veal a 24-hour watch on his wrist.
