The Weekend Australian - Review - - Out & About - David Stratton

The Founder (M) This surprising film stars Michael Keaton as Ray Kroc, the man who claimed to be the founder of the McDonald’s hamburger chain. The film reveals that, back in 1954, Kroc encountered brothers Dick and Mac McDonald (Nick Offerman, John Carroll Lynch) at their restaurant and encouraged them to enter an agreement with him, a contract later broken, to expand the company through national and then international franchises. As a depiction of rampant capitalism, John Lee Hancock’s film is forceful and convincing, and Keaton is terrific as the odious Kroc. Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk
