The Weekend Australian - Review - - Out & About - David Stratton

Jasper Jones (M) Rachel Perkins’s adaptation of Craig Silvey’s well-regarded book is a beautifully realised evocation of life in a small West Australian timber town in the summer of 1969. The central character is Charlie (Levi Miller), a 14-year-old who is forced to cope not only with puberty and his attraction to a girl his age (Angourie Rice) but also with challenges that involve racism, jealousy and murder.
