RETIRING at the golden age of 55 may turn out to an unachievable dream of many Australians, a Talent2 survey says. About a third of Australians do not contribute more than the mandatory amount into the super. More than 27 per cent say they do not intend to retire before 60, the survey of 1741 respondents has found.
Men are more prepared for retirement than women, with 62 per cent saying they have taken active steps to help them retire. Only 48 per cent of women in the survey showed a similar readiness.
