Executives like to stay put

MOBILITY is not as common among executives as commonly believed. More than half the executives in a survey of 900, conducted by bluesteps.com for the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC), reveal they will have worked for four to seven organisations in their career.

This is a fairly low number, says AESC president Peter Felix. ‘‘ Given the current skills shortage among senior executives around the world, I would have expected executives to be anticipating numerous job movements throughout their careers.’’
