AMERICAN Don Gorske was honoured with a congratulatory banner by his local McDonald’s restaurant for eating his 25,000th Big Mac. The 57-year-old retired prison guard has apparently gone only eight days without a burger since 1972 — the equivalent of 13,500,000 million calories and the weight in grease of a large polar bear, according to Britain’s Guardian newspaper. Gorske, who appeared in the documentary Super Size Me, told the paper, ‘‘I plan on eating Big Macs til I die.’’ Detective doesn’t doubt it.
