MAR­COPierre White, a man Michel Roux Sr de­scribes as ‘‘one of the best cooks I’ve ever seen’’, ar­rived qui­etly in Aus­tralia last week for his first visit down un­der. But the Brit, who at 33 be­came the youngest chef to win three Miche­lin stars, was not here just to check out our pop­u­lar tourist sights. In­stead, White was spruik­ing Con­ti­nen­tal Stock Pot ready-made jelly stock at a cook­ing demo de­scribed as ‘‘a once-in-al­ife­time chance to sam­ple Marco’s flavour­some cui­sine’’. It doesn’t hap­pen of­ten, but De­tec­tive is lost for words.
