PRAGUE, capital of the Czech Republic, touts itself as Europe’s geographic heart. Each summer tourists swarm its Charles Bridge, Old Town Square and winding cobblestone lanes. But quieter streets in winter make it much easier to take in the historic sights. For a culinary experience combined with spectacular views of Prague Castle, dinner at Four Seasons Hotel’s Allegro Restaurant is the perfect option. Chef Andrea Accordi’s Michelin-starred Italian cuisine will be a holiday high-point. The signature dish of roasted veal rack for two is pricey but highly recommended. More: fourseasons.com/prague. ARMCHAIR TRAVELLER The Hotel Inspector: It’s the start of series seven and Alex Polizzi (who took over from Ruth Watson, the fellow bossyboots who’s turned her eye to sorting out country houses) is back to prompt B&B and boarding house proprietors to get rid of dust-gathering figurines and bathroom carpets. Monday, 7.30pm, LifeStyle. The Thick of It: I’ve watched this brilliant satire of British politics only during flights and have laughed so hard that fellow passengers have got rather cross; now I’ll be falling off the telly couch in private. Hilarious, horribly believable stuff. Thursday, 10pm, ABC2.
