French Ties Jane Webster (Viking $59.95) JANE Webster is, rather presumptuously, living my life. Well, the life I’d like to be leading had I the wherewithal to pack in my job, my house and my cat, and drag the husband off to buy a renovators’ delight in Normandy. In this sequel to her 2008 book At My French Table, Webster fills us in on life since her family left Melbourne seven years ago to pursue their French adventure. After renovating their rundown chateau in the village of Bosgouet, Webster set about realising another long-held dream: to invite small groups to her home for a taste of idyllic rural French life. She now conducts cooking classes from her chateau kitchen, taking in visits to markets, butchers and boulangeries, through her new business, The French Table. This second book is interspersed with recipes Webster has perfected in her new surrounds, from anchovy and gruyere pinwheels and baked camembert to Bosgouet fish pie.
