THE Emi­rates-owned Wol­gan Val­ley Re­sort west of Sydney is launch­ing a se­ries of week­end events pack­ages aimed at bud­ding artists, mu­sic lovers and fans of high fash­ion. Land­scape pain­ter Ge­or­gia Mansur will front an artist-in-res­i­dence pro­gram from Novem­ber 2 to De­cem­ber 2, guid­ing guests through a se­ries of oneon-one out­door classes ($300 plus ac­com­mo­da­tion costs of about $725 a per­son a night, in­clud­ing meals, se­lected wines and ac­tiv­i­ties). The Sydney Sym­phony Or­ches­tra will be cel­e­brat­ing its 80th birthday at Wol­gan Val­ley in Fe­bru­ary and the re­sort is also plan­ning a fash­ion and food week­end in mid-2013 fea­tur­ing a se­ries of Aus­tralian de­sign­ers.
