SOF­I­TEL Sydney Went­worth, part of the French-owned Ac­cor cor­po­ra­tion, has a Parisian Nights pack­age from $320 a night (un­til Novem­ber 4), which in­cludes ac­com­mo­da­tion with late check­out, full buf­fet break­fast for two, wel­come glasses of French bub­bles (with cas­sis, kir royale-style), a $50 spa credit at Lat­touf Hair and Day Spa, and two tick­ets to the Eu­gene At­get Old Paris ex­hi­bi­tion at the nearby Art Gallery of NSW. The show fea­tures a col­lec­tion of more than 200 rare and orig­i­nal prints by At­get that cel­e­brate the build­ings, gar­dens, shops and streets of 19th­cen­tury Paris be­fore the French cap­i­tal was trans­formed by Baron Hauss­mann’s mod­erni­sa­tion pro­gram. The ex­hi­bi­tion is com­ple­mented by a free en­ter­tain­ment sched­ule and a se­ries of talks and per­for­mances, in­clud­ing Mu­sic in the Art Bar with Spy­glass Gyp­sies on Wed­nes­day evenings to Oc­to­ber 3. Sof­i­tel Sydney Went­worth re­cently hosted a so-called Cham­pagne Ren­dezvous for the travel in­dus­try, fea­tur­ing vis­it­ing tourism of­fi­cials, a three-course menu by two-star Miche­lin chef Philippe Mille of Do­maine Les Cray­eres at Reims and G.H.
