HOME AND AWAY
SOFITEL Sydney Wentworth, part of the French-owned Accor corporation, has a Parisian Nights package from $320 a night (until November 4), which includes accommodation with late checkout, full buffet breakfast for two, welcome glasses of French bubbles (with cassis, kir royale-style), a $50 spa credit at Lattouf Hair and Day Spa, and two tickets to the Eugene Atget Old Paris exhibition at the nearby Art Gallery of NSW. The show features a collection of more than 200 rare and original prints by Atget that celebrate the buildings, gardens, shops and streets of 19thcentury Paris before the French capital was transformed by Baron Haussmann’s modernisation program. The exhibition is complemented by a free entertainment schedule and a series of talks and performances, including Music in the Art Bar with Spyglass Gypsies on Wednesday evenings to October 3. Sofitel Sydney Wentworth recently hosted a so-called Champagne Rendezvous for the travel industry, featuring visiting tourism officials, a three-course menu by two-star Michelin chef Philippe Mille of Domaine Les Crayeres at Reims and G.H.
