ETIHAD, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, based in Abu Dhabi, is launching a Facebook competition to tie in with its newly aired global brand campaign, which has been placed across print, digital and outdoor advertising platforms. Themed ‘‘The World Is Our Home, You Are Our Guest’’, the ads were launched on March 3 and entrants have until April 30 to submit images of themselves and their home city into the Facebook page’s Be My Guest competition tab to create a bespoke Timeline cover image. Two winners (chosen from the top 10 entries as voted by the airline’s Facebook community) will each receive four Coral economy-class return tickets to their chosen destinations on the airline’s global network. The commercial has no cheesy narration or shrieking claims, but features a cool Bobby Darin soundtrack: ‘‘The world is full of beautiful things . . .’’ Classy stuff.
