UMAUbud, a member of the COMOHotels and Resorts collection and one of Bali’s most stylish and affordable hideaways, has a new street-side Italian-inspired restaurant, Uma Cucina, and chic lounge bar open daily for lunch and dinner. Chef Nicolas Lazzaroni’s menu is strong on local produce and house specialties include hand-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas and bread, and refreshing gelato and granita. Bar staff have been trained by COMO’s mixologists at the Met Bar in London and latest concoctions include an Uma Cucina negroni and a pandanus fizz, combining pandan extracts and coconut cream, Tanqueray gin, fresh lemon and egg white. Seventeen guestrooms also have been added to this well-located retreat on the edge of the hill station of Ubud. Taking the total room count to 46, there are an additional four Ubud Rooms (from $US270), four Pool Suites with private plunge pools and sundecks (from $US320), and five top-of-the-range Pool Villas with larger pools (from $US470).
