WITHIN the catchment of streets with names such as Snapper, Flathead and Flounder, Ettalong’s Coast 175 is a real find on the NSWcentral coast. There’s nothing fishy about the prices or the offerings at this stylish cafe, from Campos coffee and freshly blended juices (pear, apple and lime; pineapple, carrot and ginger) to yummy ricotta drizzled with lime-infused honey, dotted with strawberry segments and popped on to sourdough fruit toast. Open from 5.30am, the corner cafe is a popular pitstop for local dog-walkers and joggers and this holiday season it has been packed with escapees from the city. Decor is white and beachy-cool, there’s a communal table as well as cosy indoor and outdoor seating, pots of herbs and a small selection of produce for sale. BYO and family-friendly (child-size portions available); on the opposite corner is Cinema Paradiso for all the latest flicks, and it’s a short stroll from the Palm Beach-Wagstaffe ferry pier. 175 Ocean View Road, Ettalong Beach; (02) 4341 8080; coast175.com.
