NUO Ho­tels is launch­ing a flag­ship ho­tel near Bei­jing’s 798 Art Zone, housed in a new “green-built” mixe­duse com­plex and fea­tur­ing a ded­i­cated art gallery; the ho­tel has com­mis­sioned Chi­nese artist Zeng Fanzhi to cre­ate four large works as well as cu­rat­ing pieces through­out the prop­erty; the 439 gue­strooms are de­signed by Hirsch Bed­ner As­so­ciates • Salzburg’s Goldgasse Ho­tel has un­veiled a mod­ern makeover, fea­tur­ing 16 con­tem­po­rary gue­strooms, each named for a dif­fer­ent opera, housed in a quaint 13th cen­tury build­ing in the city’s his­toric quar­ter; the Small Luxury Ho­tels’ mem­ber of­fers rooms with all mod cons (mas­sage showers, espresso ma­chine, free Wi-Fi and a free mini­bar) from £120 ($230) • Ac­cor’s MGallery col­lec­tion of bou­tique ho­tels has joined Mel­bourne’s Wheeler Cen­tre to host a se­ries of writ­ers-in­res­i­dence pro­grams; au­thors will write a short story in­spired by their stay and take part in an “in con­ver­sa­tion’’ evening with read­ers; Favel Par­rett will be in res­i­dence at Mount Lofty House in the Ade­laide Hills next month (in con­ver­sa­tion April 8) • Stam­ford Ho­tels and Re­sorts is of­fer­ing an Easter dis­count for April; sav­ings of up to 20 per cent at its prop­er­ties in Ade­laide, Syd­ney, Mel­bourne, Bris­bane and Auck­land • Syd­ney­based StayWell Hos­pi­tal­ity Group has spruced up its Park Regis Sin­ga­pore ho­tel; the $2.8 mil­lion facelift in­cludes an up­dated re­cep­tion area, new restau­rants and luxe bed­ding in all gue­strooms.
