Yar­ran­go­b­illy Caves are in the north­ern sec­tion of Kosciuszko Na­tional Park, NSW, about 80km from Tu­mut or 110km from Cooma. The last 6km of the road to the caves is un­sealed. Yar­ran­go­b­illy Caves House is di­vided into 1901 and 1917 sec­tions and of­fers self-cater­ing ac­com­mo­da­tion to in­di­vid­u­als and groups. The large kitchen is welle­quipped, with three cook­ing sta­tions, and there is a com­mu­nal din­ing room and lounge. From $148.63 a night twin-share in an en­suite queen room in the 1917 sec­tion. This month (Au­gust) guests can stay three nights for the price of two. Only one of the caves is open for self­guided tours; the oth­ers can be vis­ited with a guide.
