His­toric Brighton man­sion sold

Brighton’s Blair Athol has been sold. Set on about 3400sq m, with pool, ten­nis court and bay views, it’s a prop­erty steeped in his­tory. No price has been revealed yet on the lat­est deal se­cured by the Beamish car deal­er­ship fam­ily, who paid $7.52m in 2013, but the ven­dors of the Goth­ic­style man­sion had prices hopes of $13m. Its pre­vi­ous own­ers in­clude Craig Kim­ber­ley of Just Jeans fame who sold it to Tab­corp CEO Ross Wil­son in 1994 for $2.95m, soon af­ter re­lo­cat­ing to Mel­bourne from Ade­laide. Its mod­ern kitchen, with Aga stove, was de­signed by Sue Carr. Blair Athol once fea­tured in Ar­chi­tec­tural Di­gest.
