Historic Brighton mansion sold
Brighton’s Blair Athol has been sold. Set on about 3400sq m, with pool, tennis court and bay views, it’s a property steeped in history. No price has been revealed yet on the latest deal secured by the Beamish car dealership family, who paid $7.52m in 2013, but the vendors of the Gothicstyle mansion had prices hopes of $13m. Its previous owners include Craig Kimberley of Just Jeans fame who sold it to Tabcorp CEO Ross Wilson in 1994 for $2.95m, soon after relocating to Melbourne from Adelaide. Its modern kitchen, with Aga stove, was designed by Sue Carr. Blair Athol once featured in Architectural Digest.
