Alarmed about security

The Weekend Australian - - COMMENTARY -

Peta Credlin’s article should ring alarm bells within our national security agencies at the very least (“Premier plays dangerous foreign policy game”, 9/11). She cites the real possibility of Manchurian candidates in this month’s Victorian election while Rebecca Urban lists the number and related costs of Victorian Labor MPs’ visits to China. The reasons provided for the trips are beyond the pale.

WA Premier Mark McGowan has backed Daniel Andrews asking why he is being treated differently from Colin Barnett’s deal with China in 2011. McGowan needs a history lesson because the illegal establishment of military bases on atolls in the South China Sea were not known then. Mike Flanigan, Toowoomba, Qld
