Get to Babinda today for a great family event with the Harvest Festival. The day starts with Traders morning and 4KZ live broadcast, followed by the Grand Street Parade from 3.30pm. The fun then moves to Bill Wakeham Park from 4.30pm, where the crowd will witness the crowning of Miss Charity, Miss Personality and the 2016 Queen. Fireworks kick off at 8.30pm as well as a cane burn. The Bad Boys of Uke will perform and encourage anyone with ukuleles to bring them along. The event will also feature lots of market stalls, a vintage machinery display and much more. Visit babindaharvestfest.org. Also on Saturday is Illumination, a performance event blending music, dance, fire and light shows by Australia’s best in an outdoor rainforest setting at AJ Hackett. Live bands, dance DJs and performaces include Tijuana Cartel (above), Uone, aerial silk performances and much more. This is an 18+ event. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are available at the gate. This choreographed dance production has been created to support beyondblue. The production is tonight, 7pm, at Cairns Dinner Theatre.
