My char­ity work was the cat­a­lyst. I re­ally iden­tify with the brand of Miss World and see it as a won­der­ful plat­form to be able to help more peo­ple from the Philip­pines. I don’t know how many out­fits I have, but I do have the most suit­cases of all the con­tes­tants this year — nine. a tra­di­tional Filip­inana terno with some mod­ern el­e­ments.

For au­di­tions I per­formed my ver­sion of the clas­sic and for the semis I per­formed the song from the Van­cou­ver Olympics.

project fo­cuses on the lack of ed­u­ca­tion for chil­dren in Tondo, Manila. Many fam­i­lies can’t af­ford to give their chil­dren an ed­u­ca­tion. I have part­nered with Young Fo­cus, an or­gan­i­sa­tion that strives to pro­vide free and ac­ces­si­ble ed­u­ca­tion to chil­dren in Tondo, to pur­chase and ren­o­vate a three-storey build­ing as a new child­care and preschool cen­tre. par­ents, aunts, un­cles and boyfriend are all here to sup­port me. I just en­joy the jour­ney. I know in my heart I have gained from the ex­pe­ri­ence. While the re­sults may over­whelm with cer­tain emo­tions, the af­ter­glow will be one of grat­i­tude and hap­pi­ness that I met the peo­ple I did and ex­pe­ri­enced this won­der­ful jour­ney.
