Lexus tops the list
LEXUS has topped the UK J.D. Power and Associates customer satisfaction index for the seventh consecutive year – in front of 33 other vehicle makes.
Lexus has taken out the Gold Award for customer satisfaction every year since it became eligible for the awards in 2000 – a feat that remains unmatched by any other car manufacturer worldwide.
The award is based on vehicle evaluations from more than 18,000 vehicle owners in the UK.
It evaluates 77 vehicle attributes grouped into four categories: quality and reliability, service satisfaction, vehicle appeal and ownership costs.
Since 2000, Lexus has consistently rated highly in the three judgment categories of quality and reliability, service satisfaction and vehicle appeal. This year Lexus scored 862 out of a possible 1000. Overall, Lexus vehicles claimed five of the top ten model rankings, a clear 17 points ahead of its nearest rival and almost 50 points ahead of its nearest luxury competitor.
The IS Line topped the customer satisfaction survey, sharing top spot with the Toyota Prius.
The RX Line placed fourth overall and was the highest rated sports utility vehicle ( SUV) of the 133-vehicle line-up.
“Following on from the LS460’s recent world car of the Year Award, the latest J.D. Power result reinforces the fact that Lexus builds the world’s best cars,” Lexus Australia divisional manager John Roca said.
“ The award also recognises the importance of the Lexus dealer network.
“Our 22 dealers strive to offer nothing but the best in customer service and support, and that’s a goal that will never change.
“Lexus’s reputation for producing the best quality vehicles will be further reinforced later this year with the arrival of the flagship hybrid, the LS600hL, and in early 2008 with the introduction of the all-new LX570 and IS- F models,” Mr Roca said.
