Sleeker-look Cer­ato

KIA will in­tro­duce the nextgen­er­a­tion Cer­ato com­pact sedan to­wards the end of this year in its home mar­ket of Korea un­der a new name: “K3”.

The K3 nomen­cla­ture will ap­ply to the Korean do­mes­tic mar­ket only, along­side the K5, K7 and K9. The new model will continue to be badged Cer­ato (or Forte) in over­seas mar­kets.

The cur­rent Cer­ato was Kia’s global best­seller in 2011 with more than 445,000 ex­am­ple­sex­am­ples sold.

While cre­at­ing the lat­est model, Kia’s dde­sign­ersi and d en­gi­neers fo­cused on giv­ing the all-new Cer­ato fu­tur­is­tic and dy­namic styling, with a more spa­cious cabin.

Af­ter go­ing on sale in Korea, the new Cer­ato sedan will ap­pear at Kia deal­er­ships in many over­seas mar­kets dur­ing the first quar­ter of 2013, to be fol­lowed by a five-door hatch­back and two-door coupe vari­ants.
