Subaru re­veals WRX to tackle the Nur­bur­gring

SUBARU and per­for­mance di­vi­sion Subaru Tec­nica In­ter­na­tional (STI) have un­veiled a stun­ning race-car ver­sion of the new-gen­er­a­tion WRX STI.

The rac­ing car will be used in the Nur­bur­gring 24-hour en­durance race in Ger­many from June 19-22 this year.

It will be STI’s sev­enth con­sec­u­tive year at the Nur­bur­gring and the STI will be aim­ing for its third vic­tory in the SP3T class. As with last year’s cam­paign, Hide­haru Tat­sumi will be team man­ager, in ad­di­tion to be­ing re­spon­si­ble for de­vel­op­ment of the car.

Toshi­hiro Yoshida and Kouta Sasaki, both from Ja­pan, will be listed as driv­ers, with two more to be an­nounced from Europe.

The new road-go­ing ver­sion of the STI has also been un­veiled at the Detroit mo­tor show.
