Rumble up for dad’s day
THE rumble of V8s will permeate the Innisfail Showgrounds tomorrow for the Cassowary Coast Car Show and ‘‘Blokes market’’.
The event will be hosted by the Police Citizens’ Youth Club with organisers co-ordinator Mick Maguire, police liaison officer Stacey Kneubuhler and Emma Johnson working hard to ensure an excellent day.
Pictured right are Senior Constable Sue Gill, police liaison officer Stacey Kneubuhler and PCYC manager Sergeant Mick Maguire with a SS Commodore highway patrol car and 1957 FE Holden owner Gary Liekefett.
With muscle cars on show, prizes every half-hour and many stalls, there will be something for everyone.
Car enthusiasts can enter one of the 11 competition categories best hot rod, best Holden, best muscle car, best project car, best Ford, best sound, best modern, best international, best interior, best 4wd and best classic.
Food, drink and live music will be available all day.
The first 50 men through the gate receive a gift pack, making it a perfect Father’s Day gift.
“I am a car enthusiast and I recommend everyone come down and see some great cars,” Mr Kneubuhler said.
“It’s a great way to spoil dad for Father’s Day.”
Gates open to the general public at 9am. Entry is $2 for public, $5 for car entrants and $10 for market stallholders.
All proceeds from the event support the PCYC.
