ESTABLISHED in Brisbane in the 1930s but locally owned and operated in Cairns since the 1970s, Pickers Vinyl and Canvas are the region’s longest-running canvas goods manufacturer.

With more than 100 years of experience between its owner/ managers, plus a team of qualified tradesmen and longterm machine operators, the service and advice offered at Pickers comes from the most knowledgeable backgrounds.

The team at Pickers specialises in shade sails and waterproof membranes, but also have a wealth of experience designing, fabricating and fitting tonneau covers and canopies for utility vehicles, boats and caravans.

“All our covers are designed to keep the elements out while also remaining extremely durable,” says Pickers’ director, Mark Leitner.

“We provide custom work and aim to please the customer by providing them with a product that has been specifically designed and tailored to meet their exact needs.” Pickers have a wide variety of colours and materials available for their tonneau covers and also fabricate all framework and ancillaries required to fit them to your vehicle.

They use Australian-made fabrics wherever possible and keep up to date with the latest industry technologies, says Mark.

“We own and use a Pathfinder automated plotter cutter, which is operated using full computer-aided design technology and can cut singular or bulk items with accuracy and speed,” he says.

“This is used for our in-house jobs, but can also be used by others wanting to outsource their work and save time.”
