Power to the people

WHETHER you’re preparing for the cyclone season or getting ready for your next outdoor adventure, Braschs has a range of generators to get you through safely and comfortably.

Owner and manager Phillip Thomas says preparation for potential cyclones is paramount – whether that involves purchasing a new generator or making sure your current generator is in good working condition.

“Petrol generators that are stored away and aren’t run on a regular basis affect the operation and reliability of the generator,” he says.

“If they are stored during the ‘off season’ with fuel left in the tank, it must either be drained out or treated with fuel additive prior to storage.”

Philip has more than 20 years’ experience in the power equipment industry.

“I have been here through both cyclones Larry and Yasi, selling standby generators through both events,” he says.

“During cyclone season we have a large stock holding of generators in case of emergency situations.”

Braschs carries the full range of Honda petrol-powered generators, including inverters and non-inverters, from 1 kilowatt up to 10 kilowatts.

Whether you’re a new person to the area who isn’t fully prepared for the cyclone season, or a business owner who needs to keep operating during power outages, the benefits of a generator are undeniable.

“Coming up to Easter, the requirement for a camping generator also grows,” Philip says.

“A Honda ‘genny’ can be used for both camping and cyclone season applications.”
