Providing the best range of patient services
THE highly-experienced ownerGP’s at Smithfield Medical Centre, Dr Dragi Simjanoski, Dr Paul Phibbs and Dr Roy Hogben, have been working in the Cairns northern beaches for more than 20 years each, treating multiple generations of patients.
“It shows how happy the patients are with the service. Kids are coming back with their own kids as they grow up,” says practice manager Larissa Simjanoski.
Along with Dr Tim Adams, who also has more than 20 years’ experience in the region, the practice also has two female GPs – Dr Nishari Wijewardena and Dr Nisha Manoheran – filling the gap for patients wishing to see a female GP.
“We now have ‘someone for everyone’. Whatever a patient needs, no matter the situation, we have a GP that is right for them,” Larissa says.
The medical centre has the latest equipment and technology, including the new Molemax machine, which allows its GPs to provide the best possible range of services to patients.
“The Molemax machine offers the latest technology in skin cancer diagnosis and management and is the only machine of its kind on the Cairns northern beaches,” Larissa says.
“It is operated by our experienced GPs who have over 20 years’ experience dealing with patients in the far northern climate.”
The centre is also one of only a few local medical centres with mental health nurses available to see patients requiring regular assistance.
“Skin Cancer and Mental Health are the two biggest issues affecting people of Cairns today and we have the experts and the most up-to-date treatment options available to assist with both.”
