Dangerous driving

AN ADELAIDE driver who hit and killed a drunk pedestrian has been found responsible for the death. Sasan Zar Sabet, 37, was found guilty of dangerous driving causing the death of Peter Chiappetta in a late-night, high-impact collision at suburban Hindmarsh in 2014. Mr Chiappetta, who had a bloodalcohol level of 0.267 per cent when he was struck, was flung into the air and suffered massive injuries, including a severed leg. District Court Judge Geraldine Davison found Sabet was speeding and should have seen the man crossing the road. Sabet faces a maximum sentence of 15 years. He will return to court in March.
