WHERE THE FNQ CLUB IS HEADING

-

QAre the club still keen to make changes to the constitution in the near future after they were blocked at the last AGM?

AAbsolutely. Not only are we keen to, but they are essential for the long term success of our great club. The NBL is changing rapidly and we need to be able to keep pace. There was a little confusion around word- ing at the last meeting and Foundation Members were never going to be “removed”. The support has been overwhelmingly positive and we have taken the steps to remove any confusion around Foundation Members.

QSmall-market clubs have struggled to remain viable in the NBL over the past decade. How are the Taipans positioned going into the future?

AThat’s true however we have delivered a profitable club for the last few years and that is the key to success. Good governance and fiscal responsibility are crucial. We don’t have the money to spend that other clubs do so we have to watch where every dollar goes.
