“I understand ecologically they have to let that flow go,” Ms Davis said.
“You just wonder about the volume of it at this time of year,” Ms Davis said.
Cairns and District Ski Club president Simon Greenwood said the dam was being managed as well as possible.
“What we don’t like to see is being too risk adverse ... then you have these conditions to meet your environmental flows,” he said.
“All of the sudden you are looking at 23 per cent, your farmers aren’t getting any water allocations and businesses aren’t getting income from the tourism because we aren’t up there water skiing.”
