IF you have ambitions of a life on the stage as a singer, or just want to hone your voice skills, TAFE North is run­ning a short course which may be a great first step. Aspir­ing singers and vo­cal­ists are en­cour­aged to take part in the five­week course which will cover var­i­ous facets of singing. It will be­gin on Oc­to­ber 30 and run once a week on a Mon­day be­tween 6pm-8pm. The class is be­ing taught by vo­cal­ist and mu­si­cal di­rec­tor of the worl­drenowned Women of Aus­traNe­sia choir, Rubina Kimiia. This night course is ideal for be­gin­ners or es­tab­lished singers who want to take their vo­cal abil­ity to new lev­els. Dur­ing the lessons, stu­dents will learn cor­rect vo­cal pro­duc­tion, voice pro­jec­tion and other tech­niques to im­prove your vo­cal

de­liv­ery. For those look­ing to work in the mu­sic in­dus­try but would pre­fer to be be­hind the scenes than on stage. TAFE North is also hold­ing a five­week course in song writ­ing. This is also suit­able for both be­gin­ners or aspir­ing song­writ­ers. Stu­dents will re­ceive help to get that demo ver­sion recorded by teach­ing you fun­da­men­tal song­writ­ing tech­niques that cover a di­verse range of styles. Stu­dents will learn from in­dus­try pro­fes­sion­als who have recorded and re­leased songs com­mer­cially. It will start on Oc­to­ber 31 and run each Tues­day night for five weeks be­tween 6-8pm.
