Franjic in no roaring hurry
IVAN Franjic will not be rushed into a sudden comeback to help the winless Roar in tonight’s showdown with Melbourne Victory.
The former Roar fullback completed his first comeback training session in Brisbane colours yesterday morning, but has ruled himself out of the clash with Melbourne.
Franjic, whose return was announced by the club on Thursday, said he hoped to make his comeback in coming weeks but did not feel like his teammates desperately needed his help.
Despite the Roar having not yet won this season, Franjic said he had a lot of belief in what the team could achieve over the coming months.
“I won’t be back (today),” he said. “It’s day-to-day, week-to-week. We still have a good medical team and coaches here and they’ll see when I’m ready. There’s no niggles. I shouldn’t be too far off.
“It’s been a bit of a slower start (for the club) but I think they’ve been unlucky as well.
The 30-year-old defender has returned to the Roar after a stint with South Korean outfit Daegu FC.
