CAN’T WIN THEM ALL

QThe Marlins have decided to go with Jamie O’Loughlin for the 2018 QBL season. You were keen to coach the Marlins – is that a dream you still have?

AWhile I would have thoroughly enjoyed coaching the Marlins, it is not really what I would consider a “dream”. A “goal” for sure, but a dream makes it sound like it’s a bit of a stretch to attain when, realistically, as somebody who has already won seven QBL championships and earned Coach of the Year honours in the process, I can confidently say that I possess the right tools to mentor the Marlins to QBL success. Being a local person who has given over 20 years of service to Cairns Basketball, it would have been nice to have been rewarded with the opportunity. At the end of the day, I won’t lose sleep over their decision and will continue to work hard to achieve my other goals, one of which is to lead the Taipans, or another club in the NBL, one day.
