My Cairns

I’ve been in Cairns since 1984. I was born in Denmark, and my parents moved to Caboolture. I got a job as a boating patrol officer and moved to Cairns. I love the lifestyle. It was the fishing that attracted me as FNQ is probably one of the best and most diverse fisheries in the world. I did the boating patrol thing for about 10 years. When I got my skipper’s ticket, I left the Department of Fisheries and started up my own charter business. I’ve been doing that, on and off, ever since. I was able to turn my love of fishing and boating into a dream job in 2015, when I was awarded a permit to conduct fishing tours on Copperlode Dam. I love it. I’ve got two boys and a little girl, and I reckon Cairns is a wonderful place to raise a family.
