Horsham district community groups have an invitation to learn more about Horsham Rural City Council’s community grants program.

The council has organised half-hour information sessions at Horsham Civic Centre, at 7pm on Tuesday, and noon and 1pm on February 15.

The program, open for applications, helps groups improve facilities and promote engaged and healthy communities.

Mayor Pam Clarke said grants of up to $10,000 would be available.

“The program caters for sorts of projects,” she said.

“Whether a group needs a couple of hundred dollars for something small, or is looking at a much bigger project, we’d encourage them to take a look at the guidelines to see how the council might be able to assist.

Last year the council distributed grants and donations to the value of $325,000.
