The Weekly Advertiser Horsham - - News -

The North West Grampians branch of the Lions Club of Horsham will present its first money-raising event at Horsham’s Wesley Performing Arts Centre on February 28.

The branch will present Christine Middleton’s solo multimedia production Memoirs of a Scottish War Bride from 6.30pm.

The branch, formed to help communities reconnect after fires in the region, has eight members.

Branch member Libby Peucker said as part of the show, the dress worn by her mother-inlaw Ollie Peucker at her wedding in the early 1930s would be on display.

“The production, a tribute to war brides who sailed to Australia from the United Kingdom, has a connection to our district. Jane Zumstein came from Scotland as a war bride and married Walter Zumstein,” Mrs Peucker said.

The performance costs $20 and people can book at Horsham Town Hall on 5382 9555.
