Ararat Rockers have made a donation to the East Grampians Health Service oncology department.

Ararat Rockers’ president Amanda Webb and vice president Gary Jenkins presented a cheque for $800 to oncologist Dr Craig Carden and oncology nursing staff, the proceeds from a rock and roll dance. More than 100 people attended the rock and roll dance at Alexandra Hall.

“We like to choose a charity each year we can donate the proceeds to, and this year decided on the oncology department, because we know that many people have family or friends who use the service,” Ms Webb said.

EGHS chief executive Nick Bush said the donation of $800 would help the health service purchase the most up-to-date equipment for the oncology department and offer outpatients a supported and comfortable environment.
